The Matterhorn Ski Paradise offers fine slopes especially for intermediate and advanced skiers and includes the interconnected ski areas Rothorn Paradise, Gornergrat , Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and the Schwarzsee Paradise. There is also a connection to the Breuil-Cervinia / Valtournenche ski area and to the Val d'Aosta. The longest ski run extends over a distance of 21 km (difference in altitude: 2279 metres) from the Klein Matterhorn down to Zermatt. Car-free Zermatt has a busy centre featuring fashionable shops and lots of après-ski bars. The summit of the Klein Matterhorn is the highest-situated lookout in Europe.
